Should a women be allowed to lead the tango? The answer is no because it is an horizontal expression of a man's love for a woman. He showcases his love for her by the movements and the expressions on his face as they dance. I have done the tango with the love of my life and the emotion involved is so intense that you could probably fry an egg on the dance floor. The way a man leads is his way of showing the woman that his love for her is as intense as the emotion that she is feeling while dancing this dance. It is a art form that only a man can lead. I have done lots of other dances, and you could lead some of them, but not this one.
One of the moves I like is when the woman rubs her leg up the man's calf in the back, slowly and sensuously. It would look very funny for a man to do that to a woman, wouldn't it? There is another move then man does who is leading where he dips her, now my partner came so close to kissing me that I held my breathe. But I could not have dipped him even if I tried, and it's the lead that does that move. There is a flow that happens in this dance if it right that makes the partners look as if they are one moving together in harmony. I love to dance this particular one because in a man's strong arms as he leads, makes a woman feel like she is loved, worshipped, and sensual in his arms.
To me, let the man lead every time because then I will feel that way all the time that I am in his arms. He is the one that can make you glide across the floor and make you look beautiful. He knows how to lead, what to do, and how to stir your emotions, so that this dance is an easy and freely given emotional feeling between the two of you. If a woman leads, she can hold the emotion back and it does not have the same effect as if the man where to lead her. I have seen it once the other way and it made the man look less of a man then if he was leading her around the dance floor.

Why not? The tango is a dance of a man trying to seduce a woman. What is wrong with a woman dancing to seduce the man? This goes back to the article of, "Do women enjoy sex as much as men?"
The tango is a dance of seduction and love, in my opinion. In today's time, women take the lead in so many things, how is it wrong for them to take the lead in a dance of love and seduction? There are many women who will usually ask a man to dance and, if she can ask the man for a dance, then why can't she lead. I am not a very good dancer, but if I could tango, I would like to lead sometimes. I would love to be able to dance a dance in which I could demand, beg, flirt and seduce. To be able to dance a dance and have my onlooker to know exactly I want from this man, without me saying a word.
The tango is like any other art form in the world, started by men. Men started the majority of the world's most notable art, then women begun to enter many of the doors. This is a good thing, because less of the new generation males are interested in dancing traditional dances and this is a multicultural occurrence. Our young males are more interested in the new hip-hop dances and attire, while our young females tend to be more interested in all dances. Females will more likely to learn the dance of their culture and others and to teach dance styles to others.
The tango is like any other art, it has to have passion. If a man takes the lead with no passion, then it is not the tango and, as in anything else, one partner can inspire the other. If a passionate woman takes the lead, she can turn on the passion of the man and it again becomes the tango. I think if a woman can take the lead and give it all the passion that a man can, then let her take the lead.
As I stated earlier I am not I very good dancer, but I love to watch dancers. The tango is one of my favorites. When I lived in Ohio, there were many places nearby, to go and see different event such as dance. Now living in a very rural area of Mississippi, I only get to see the events every once in a while on television and I very seldom see the tango. Is this because there are not enough men to take the lead? Well all I have to say is that if there are any women out there who can take the lead, BRAVO and if not then us women need to pick up the pace.
Should women be allowed to take the lead the tango? Why not, you men are ALLOWING us to lead in everything else.
