Energy Independence should be the highest priority, of the new administration's political agenda!
Considering that the United States is supposed to be the Land of The Free. We as a nation, cannot depend on foreign countries for our energy needs! Under no circumstances can we allow ourselves to be held hostage by our needs, for fossil fuels imported from other countries! To do so would mean that our energy needs can and will, dictate our Foreign Policy in what we consider, third world countries. Let's be honest here. Many of these foreign countries, resent America, and it's citizens! It is also known that several of these countries are known to sponsor"Home Grown Terrorisim"! But because they have huge reserves of oil and gas, we have to deal with them on their terms. Not on our's! Therefore, the time has come for the United States to be totally self-sufficient when it comes to energy. To do otherwise, could be a total disaster for our nation!
Not to mention the fact, that our energy independence is a matter of National Security! It is my firm hope and belief that our new President understands the implications of the United States being dependent on foreign oil supplies. This could be disastrous for our country if a world-wide conflict should arise. For this reason it is imperative that the United States pursue with great vigor, the alternative fuels that our nation desperately needs! We here in the US, are far behind other countries in the production and use of renewable fuels. Whether we are referring to Bio-diesel, Solar Power, Wind Turbines, or the production and adaption of the use of ethanol. The United States can no longer rely on the use of fossil fuels to supply our country's energy needs!
Other than the US economy, energy independence has to be our number one priority! If we as a nation want to continue to lead the world in Humanitarian aid, World Health organizations, and 21st. century technology. We have to move away from the use of fossil fuels! This is the only way we can continue to help young Democracies to grow and thrive across the globe. America has to be in a position of authority when it comes to helping other struggling nations to survive and grow, in the new World Economy. We have to be totally self sufficient when it comes to energy production! Sometimes I wonder if the American public is aware of the fact, that the United States has the best wind corridor in the entire world?
That simple, but absolute fact should give our Governmental leaders a concrete clue as to which way our energy dollars should be spent! Just give that fact a little thought, if you will. If America would put our resources into Wind Power, and the power grids and transportation lines that are required for this natural resource. We could produce approx. sixty percent of our total energy needs in ten years or less! Not to mention the thousands of jobs that would be created in the process. So, not only would it help secure our nation as a whole. It would be a huge boost to the economy at a time when we so desperately need it!
So. Should energy independence be a high priority in this country? Just for once, this nation's leaders should listen to the citizens voices, and let them decide!
