Is loud music an environmental toxin? The answer to that current debatable question is yes for the following rational reasons:
1) LOUD MUSIC CREATES HEARING IMPAIRMENT IN PEOPLE
During the middle to late 1960's when the Baby Boomer's and the Baby Busters were the younger generations, psychedelic and/or acid rock became very popular over the Seattle area radio stations such as KJR and KOL. However, that drug induced, mind altering music needs to be reclassified as an environmental toxin because it creates hearing impairment in it's listeners!

The bands and the Disk Jockeys strongly encouraged their young impressionable listening audience to follow the advice of this early 1970's song: "Life is a Rock where the radio rolls me. Got to turn it up louder so my DJ told me. At the end of my rainbow lies a golden oldie..."

These generations were more likely to rely upon hearing aids at a much earlier age bracket than previous generations. They were also voted the most likely to become legally deaf and rely upon the manual alphabet, lip reading, and service animals trained to help the hearing impaired.

2) LOUD MUSIC CREATES OTHER PHYSICAL PROBLEMS
Cardiovascul ar patients are advised to avoid loud music because it might trigger an angina attack, heart attack or stroke. Loud music is also an environmental toxin because it causes an electrical shock to the nervous system resulting in nervous disorders. Listeners are more likely to suffer from sleeping disorders and forced to rely on herbal sleeping aids! Over the counter, or prescription sleep aids have been proven to be harmful and habit forming when used over a prolonged period of time.

3) LOUD MUSIC CREATES OTHER PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS
Listeners of loud music are more likely to suffer both emotional and/or nervous breakdowns in their life times. They are also at risk to suffer from stress related anxiety and/or panic attacks. They also become in need of expensive psychiatric counseling and medication unless they have lower incomes and have their medication and services provided for them.

4) LOUD MUSIC IS ILLEGAL IN SEVERAL URBAN COMMUNITIES
Snohomish County in Everett Washington has stricter noise pollution ordinances than they used to. These local ordinances are more likely to be enforceable in South Snohomomish County. The Herald, a local Snohomish County newspaper, featured a man who was issued a steep fine in South Snohomish County,for listening to his car radio much too loudly.

He was issued a steep fine ranging from $70.00 through about $100.00. When the gentleman claimed that listening to loud music was a basic Constitutional right, the South Snohomish County city countered with,"you have no right to interfere with the rights of other individuals who are forced to listen to your loud music against their will..."

5) LOUD MUSIC IS FREQUENTLY INVOLVED IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ACTS
Listeners of loud music become insensitive, overly aggressive people when listening to their loud rock over a prolonged period of time! They are voted much more likely to commit violent acts against their friends, family, relatives, neighbors, and even complete strangers than people who listen to mellower, more relaxing music. Their neighbors are more likely to file complaints against them in courts and have restraining orders issued against as a result of their listening to loud music! It should be reclassified as an environmental toxin!
