The Tree of Life is an analogous concept which represents partaking of God's life and benefits, in personal relationship and good fellowship with Him. This kept Adam and Eve (first man) innocent and blameless.

Yet in the story of Adam and Eve, God had told them they could eat from every tree in the garden except for the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Of course, they ultimately disobeyed and ate from the forbidden tree anyhow.

This forbidden tree represents knowing good and evil. For a raw example, the BTK killer Dennis Rader was a respected member of his church and community. While he was doing "good" things for others, he was also secretly participating in evil as well.

In the first chapter of Genesis (1:2) it says that darkness was in the earth. The word 'darkness' here comes from the Hebrew word "choshek" which means: wickedness; sadness, death, a dark place as of Hades, misery, adversity, destruction and an underground prison.

The scriptures do not tell us where the darkness came from and some have used the verse in Isaiah (45:7) where God said: "I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create evil" ... yet the word "create" in this verse comes from the Hebrew word: "bara'" which means to cut out, break or separate.

In other words, He didn't create darkness and evil, He separates them from light and peace.

Man's body was formed from the dust of the earth. This means that when God formed man's body, darkness dwelt within it, but it was dormant at first. It wasn't until man disobeyed God that this darkness was unleashed.

Since the fall of man, we are all born-sinners, who are subject to error, failure and the capability of sinking to the lowest common denominator. We have sin natures.

Just take a look at toddlers playing in a sandbox. You will observe violence; hostility, greed; hatred, lying; bullying; stealing; plotting; jealousy and more. Small children are good examples of raw, untamed human beings.

How they are raised will greatly determine the level of restraint they use against going with this sinful nature.  When they are taught morals; what is socially unacceptable and self-restraint  through the disciplines of their guardians or parents, it helps greatly in this endeavor.

Yet it isn't enough to completely squelch the sin nature

This nature or propensity to sin, is why we need a Savior, and God provided One for us in Jesus Christ, His Son. Inviting Christ to come in and take over your life, and then living for Him, is to stop eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and begin to eat from the Tree of Life.

To participate in an interactive, daily, personal relationship with Christ.

A tree represents "firm strength". If we allow ourselves to plant our roots deeply in Christ by maintaining a vital relationship with Him, the stronger we become.

God has wanted us to know Him personally and intimately from the beginning. The story of Adam and Eve make that quite apparent. It's the main reason we exist.

Sure, we are and have been - allowed to freely live our physical lives here on earth and enjoy it, but as Adam and Eve's story demonstrates, God still wants us to partake of the Tree of Life today.

This means to partake of His life and have relationship with Him. He has desired relationship with each and every man from the beginning.

We weren't designed to live without God involved in our lives. Some may be used to it, but it isn't what God intended. He not only made this apparent in the story of Adam and Eve, but also in His historic relationship with Israel.

When Adam partook of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, the very first knowledge of evil he encountered, was his own. His innocence was gone.

He not only realized he disobeyed God's warning (sinned), but his conscience was violated and he felt naked and ashamed.

When God approached him and inquired about what he had done, Adam responded by blaming the woman God gave him, and God Himself - for giving her to him ... giving excuses instead of just fessing up. Thus began the fall of man.

We are all born with the same propensity to sin, and if you remember the "sandbox" analogy, we start early.

This is why God sent Jesus. We learned from God's relationship with Israel, that man is incapable of completely fulfilling and abiding all of God's laws and requirements. The laws were given to show this to man.

Thus-enter, Jesus, the Savior and Messiah. Man's world religions are man's way of trying to connect with God, but Jesus is God's way. Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man goes to the Father except through me." (Jn.14:6)

He is God's provision so that man can finally have uninterrupted, personal relationship with God. He is the Tree of Life for us today. Through Jesus, we may partake of God's life and be made pure and Holy.

When we invite Jesus into our life to take over as Lord, we begin a journey of changes where God is making us like Himself in character through experience, as we partake in Him.

This is why Jesus held up the bread and said "Take, eat, this is my body, broken for you."  Jesus knew that if we consume of Him and His life, we are partaking of the Tree of Life.

The scriptures are like a jigsaw puzzle. When we put all the little pieces together, we can see the big picture, and it all makes sense. It is full of conceptual messages to us, even today. This is why we must study His Word, and learn of Him. (2 Tim. 2:15 - Matt. 11:39)

The scriptures are full of passages that are literal, figurative, metaphoric, allegories, and analogies. They all give conceptual messages to us - from God that come together just like a jigsaw puzzle.

The Tree of Life is still the tree that God wishes us to eat from. God is light.

He loves us, and He knows that if we use our free will choice to sin against Him and eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, we condemn ourselves and cheat ourselves out of the best life and relationship we will ever know.

Is the Tree of Life a real thing? The accounts of the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden are an allegory of making decisions by following either Spiritual Wisdom or Carnal Wisdom.

To partake of the Tree of Life is to be in unity and partake of the Eternal Wisdom of the Universe - that is, to follow the guidance of the Eternal Spirit.

To partake of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is to follow the Carnal Wisdom of the lusts of the flesh - which are epitomized by sex - the method of reproduction of the man Adam - who is Lucifer, the Devil.

The meanings of this allegory are made clear by the etymology (root meanings of the words).

Eden: Strong's Heb. 5730: To live voluptuously: delight self. Voluptuous means: full of, producing, or characterized by sensual delights and pleasures; sensual.

Gen. 3:3: "But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."

John 3:6: "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7: Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

The tree of knowledge of good and evil in the midst of the garden of Eden is the sexual organ. The sexual organs are in the center of the body. This is the Serpent-Beast-organ of the man or the Hell-Hole womb of the woman.

Serpent: Strong's Heb. 5175: (from 5172): a snake (from its hiss) - serpent: nachash naw-khash: a primitive root; properly, to hiss, i.e. whisper a (magic) spell; generally, to prognosticate: use enchantment, learn by experience, diligently observe. This is the perfect description of the male sex drive.

The Womb of a woman is Hell. Prov. 7:27: Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. Prov. 9:18: But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

From Neurology: Brain: After fusing of an egg and sperm, the brain goes from zero neurons to approximately 200 billion in about nine months. Due mainly to sexual activity destroying neurons, most adults ends up with about half that amount.

Neuron: Structural and functional unit of the nervous system, consisting of the nerve cell body and all its processes, including an axon and one or more dendrites. The brain conveys information through the neurons.

The trees in the Garden of Eden are the dendrites of the brain - which have their facsimile in the physical body. Dendrite: Etymology: "Gr. of a tree; dendron, a tree. The branched tree-like part of a nerve cell that receives impulses from neighboring neurons and transmits them to the cell bodies of other neurons."

Axon: That part of a nerve cell through which impulses travel away from the cell body to the dendrites of other neurons. Axons can vary in length from a fraction of an inch to several feet. Language of the brain is tremendously complex with an almost infinite variation.

Information can be conveyed by any of the brain's 100 to 200 billion neurons - each with connections to a thousand or more other neurons. There are the same order (200 billion) of neurons in the human brain at birth as there are stars in the Milky Way Galaxy.

Scientists state that God seems to be one gigantic mind. The stars are the neurons of the Mind of God. This is why creation can be ordered and intelligent. Stars of the Milky Way Galaxy are replicated as neurons in the human brain. Angels are the thoughts of God - which are the stars. Rev. 1:20: "The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches."

The angel Lucifer is the star, the earthly Sun. This star is replicated as the neuron in the brain - which is the responsible for reproduction through sex . This neuron is the control center of carnal wisdom.

Lucifer: Strong's 1966: "heylel hay-lale' from 1984 (in the sense of brightness); the morning-star:- lucifer. 1984 "halal haw-lal' a primitive root; to be clear (orig. of sound, but usually of color); to shine; hence, to make a show, to boast; to celebrate; give (light), give in marriage, praise, shine."

The garden of God is the human brain. Ezek. 28:13: "Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God. 14: Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15: Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee."

Ezek. 31:6: "All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations. 9: I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him."

Lucifer became incarnate as the man Adam. 2 Esdras 3:21: "For the first Adam bearing a wicked heart transgressed, and was overcome; and so be all they that are born of him."

Gal. 5:17: "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

The battle in your soul is based on your decisions to follow the Eternal Wisdom of the Universe - or the carnal lusts of the flesh - epitomized by sex.

The Eternal Wisdom of the Universe is the Tree of Life. Prov. 15:4: "A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit." The two most common forms of perversions are lying and oral intercourse. Any type of perversion breaks your communion and communication with the Eternal Spirit of Truth - the Tree of Life. Not many people have attain perfection - to overcome death.

Speech is the epitome of Reason and Wisdom. Speech: Logos: Greek, (word, reason), in ancient and especially in medieval philosophy and theology, the divine reason that acts as the ordering principle of the Universe.

Reason, rational: Strong's Concordance: Gr. 3056: "logos log'-os; from 3004; Word, something said (including the thought); by implication, a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning, The Divine Expression."

Wisdom is the feminine Eternal Spirit that imparts the deep understanding of spiritual knowledge. Partaking of the Tree of Life is to be unified with Eternal Wisdom and live forever. Gen. 3:22: "Lest he take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:"

Prov. 18:21: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

Prov. 11:30: "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise."

Prov. 3:18: "She (Wisdom) is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her."

Luke 7:35: "Wisdom is justified of all her children."

When a human being is unified with Eternal Wisdom, their nature and actions will bring forth the twelve fruit of the Tree of Life (fruit of the Spirit).

The twelve fruit of the Tree of Life are: Love (charity), Joy, Peace, Patience (long-suffering - Old English), Gentleness, Goodness (virtue), Faithfulness, Meekness, Temperance (self-control), Hope, Knowledge (experience)and Glory through Tribulations.

Rev. 22:1: "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2: In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."

James 3:13: Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

14: But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15: This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16: For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17: But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18: And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace."

1 Pet 3:10: "For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile."

Carnal Wisdom brings forth the works of the flesh - epitomized by sex. Gal. 5:19: "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20: Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21: Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

Which will you follow - the Carnal Wisdom of the flesh - epitomized by sex or the Eternal Spiritual Wisdom of the Tree of Life? Rom. 8:6: " For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."
