While there are people who are celebrating the victories accumulated by the New England Patriots, there are those who say that the New England Patriots are using methods such as "running up the scoreboard" or "cheating" in order to have the perfect victory. The detractors have used the New England Patriot videotaping scandal during the Patriots VS Jets Game as proof.
While it is undeniable that the New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick was punished by the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell with a $250,000 fine and ordered to forfeit the top draft choice in the next draft, there is no denying that the New England Patriots have a well organized team. It is like a machine with Bill Belichick as Coach, Robert Kraft as Owner, and players such as Tom Brady, Matt Gutierrez, and Junior Seau.
The New England Patriots are a team that has had the discipline, the tenacity, the will, and I have a feeling that behind the team, there is a sense of community with family. Of course, there are exceptions to the rules.
After a careful evaluation of the statistics of the New England Patriots, I think that they have won all of their games fair and square. They have also learned from the videotaping scandal, I hope. The people who are criticizing should at least recognize that in addition to history being made, what occurred has passed, justice was served, lessons were learned, and we should be thinking ahead.
On the 12th of January 2008 at 8:00PM Miami Time, The New England Patriots are going to play the Jacksonville Jaguars for the AFC Divisional Playoff at Gillette Stadium in Boston, Massachusetts. While I will support the Jacksonville Jaguars, I am willing to predict a victory by the New England Patriots based on their willingness to play under pressure and of course, a hometown advantage should not be discounted.
As for running up the scoreboard, as I am writing about the New England Patriots [on the 12th of January 2008 at 7:45PM Miami Time], WSVN Channel 7 News [A Fox Affiliate] announced that the Green Bay Packers defeated the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 42 to 20. It also appears that if my predication for the New England Patriots are true, there is the possibility of the New England Patriots will face the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl.
On the 12th of January 2008 at 11:10PM Miami Time, The New England Patriots defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-20 after a long and exciting game in which Jacksonville equalized the game at times. It was an unforgettable experience to see on TV and there is no doubt that New England Patriots is a tried and tested team. There was no proof of running up the scoreboard by the New England Patriots.
Congratulat ions to the New England Patriots on their victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

For the majority of the regular season, the Patriots had their way with any defense that came on the field. Tom Brady showed us what a great quarterback could do with all the pieces in place to form a near-perfect offensive juggernaut. We always measure greatness in sports with numbers, and I suppose we always shall.
The numbers were stunning as we watched the Patriots rip through the good and bad teams on their schedule. When you score 75 touchdowns as a team, there will be a significant point differential. Some teams were ripe for the rout, as always will be the case. Running up double digit leads was something that the patriots did quickly within most of their games.
Was it necessary to humiliate these other teams? No. There are long memories in sport and I predict this will come back to haunt Belachick and company in the not so distant future. Teams are up and down and there will be another day when one of the drubbed will be in position to repay the horrible deed.
Perhaps some measure of revenge was served up by the mighty Super bowl champions of this past football season, the New York by gosh Giants. The G-Men played the patriots closer than anyone had in the final regular season game. They proved the Patriots were human and beatable. If you notice, there was only a three point differential in both the games played between these two teams. This was the closest games the might Patriots experienced during their run at history.
Maybe the Patriots will learn from this that because you can score doesn't mean you should. After all, they did not score at will against the Giants. Also, their defense could not make the plays when they needed to the most. Out scoring your opponent is not a long term strategy that will pay off dependably, at some point you must be able to prevent the other team from putting the ball in the end zone.
There is a certain amount of respect you show for your peers by only doing what is necessary to win. How many teams in the NFL need to be defeated by three or more touchdowns? Belachick showed a definite lack of class in the way he directed his team this season. Repeating an earlier opinion, I think this will come back to haunt him in his near future.
