Five years ago, the Nairobi Central Business District looked virtually deserted on weekends. Even the other side of Moi Avenue did not have much traffic. Much earlier, a walk in the outskirts of the city felt like you were far from the city. Of course, Nairobi river didn't have the pristine transparency of the village brooks, but at least they knew less chemical contamination.
