Left Behind

If I were a young boy
With time on my hands,
I wouldn't sit and watch you
Waste away again.

If my eyes were pure as rain
And I didn't know the pain,
I would run off in my innocents
Staying young for another day.

But I stay by your side,
We're here once again.
We've been here many times before,
But I fear we're at an end.

Disease has taken hold of you,
Your body gives up the fight.
You've fought well
